Health Plan Changes - Medicare
If you are a pastor with the Apostolic Assembly, then your health insurance is changing and you need to do some important steps before November 15th, 2019, to avoid being without coverage.
The current group insurance plan with Kaiser is going away as of 12/01/2019. The plan as it is currently organized is out of compliance with the current health insurance laws and changes need to be made. Non employees are no longer allowed to be on a corporate employee health plan. The GOOD NEWS is that many of the you who are pastors will be able to spend less on your health coverage.
Since you are 65 or older, you qualify for Medicare and in many cases could be paying $0 for the same or better coverage.
Currently, you are paying rates for your health insurance that are as follows:
One person - $241.08
Two persons - $482.16
Some of you are still paying the full rates at One person - $608.18 or Two persons - $1338.
With most Medicare Advantage plans you should be paying as little as $0 and as much as maybe $75. Unfortunately, it appears that many of the pastors who are over 65 were never made aware of the options or choices when you turned 65.
We can get you enrolled in a great Medicare Advantage plan and reduce your costs and get you extra benefits like coverage for hearing aids, a gym membership, and other non medical care options.
For example the United Healthcare Medicare Advantage plan has $0 monthly cost for most people, $0 deductible, and $0 cost when you see a doctor. Plus, it includes vision and hearing coverage and a gym membership.
In order to get you enrolled in a new plan and figure out what you qualify for, I will need to get some information from each of you. Here are the steps to get enrolled in a new plan.
(This is not optional as the current plan will go away on December 1st.)
